Mumbai is experiencing heavy rainfall, prompting the IMD to issue an orange alert for the city
Mumbai is experiencing heavy rainfall, prompting the IMD to issue an orange alert for the city and surrounding areas like Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad. The continuous downpour has led to waterlogging in several parts of the city, forcing the closure of the Andheri subway and causing minor delays in local train services, especially on the Central and Harbour lines. Road traffic has been severely affected due to waterlogging on major highways and key city roads. Authorities have also issued warnings for high tides and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel. The wet spell is expected to continue over the next few days with heavy rain forecasts.
